How can I get inside the floor?

Tim says:
“in” seems like a strange word to use here. An English speaker won’t understand what they need to get “in”. Should they stay within the pink circle? Or get inside the floor somehow??
But it appears to me that the sign means to wait behind the line drawn in front of the feet. In Japanese you might say「白い線の内側に」, but in English you can’t be “inside” a single line, only “behind” it.

I’ve heard of soy ink, but I didn’t expect for certain symbols on the menu to be printed with garlic ink!
The way this is written, it means that the symbol itself contains garlic, but of course this is incorrect. The symbol doesn’t contain garlic; it designates menu items which contain garlic! We only need two words to tell us what the little brown mark symbolizes:

These English mistakes are making me sick!
X Hospitalization Floor
Tim says:
It’s certainly true that people who are staying on this floor have been “hospitalized”, but we don’t call the floor that. People who have been hospitalized are called “inpatients” (compare to “outpatients”, who come to see a doctor and then go home), so we would call this an “outpatient floor”.
