How can I get inside the floor?

“in” seems like a strange word to use here. An English speaker won’t understand what they need to get “in”. Should they stay within the pink circle? Or get inside the floor somehow??

But it appears to me that the sign means to wait behind the line drawn in front of the feet. In Japanese you might say「白い線の内側に」, but in English you can’t be “inside” a single line, only “behind” it.
