A tax in a tax
X + TAX ==> IN TAX!!

When I first saw this English, I couldn’t understand it at all. Is there tax inside the tax?? I had to read the Japanese in order to understand what the intended meaning was. (Also, I didn’t notice the “plus sign”, but still “in tax” is very strange!)
If you use this ticket, the pre-tax price will become the tax-included price. It’s difficult to say that in so few words, but maybe we could use this:
O PRE-TAX ==> WITH TAX!

A whale of a diet

There are many different kinds of diets (食生活), so this sign is rather unclear. It could be corrected in various ways, such as “I love dieting” (ダイエットをするのが好き）, but does that fit the intended message?
The meaning of this sign is that whale meat is low in calories, so it’s good for people who don’t want to gain weight. So it’s not quite correct to say that the whale “loves” dieting, but rather than it’s “good for” your diet.
O I’m good for your diet.

How could it be that they got the spelling of “million” correct in the company logo, but wrong in the Web URL?! (I looked it up — the actual URL does have TWO “L”s in it!)
